The third and final version of the trilogy focuses on the final battle against Reaper. The second game takes place two years later and shows Shepard fighting Collector, an alien race that kidnaps the entire human colony in a plan to help Reaper return to the Milky Way. The first game to see Shepard faced Sovereign, a pioneering Reaper, who planned to allow the current Reaper fleet to hibernate in a dark space to invade the Milky Way and destroy all living life, continuing a mysterious cycle of destruction.
